Our wedding story

Since the proposal, it was clear that we don't want a standard wedding, with 7 bridges, gates and similar traditions. But to figure out how to organize a harmonious celebration to please both conservative parents and super fun ones friends, which was difficult. The main idea we kept in mind -

we make a wedding as we want, not "as needed", as "parents say and demand".

Over time, the idea of a picnic on July 31 crystallized, with a buffet where everyone could enjoy the apple orchard Burtnieki. However, flipping through various wedding pictures, I mentioned that it would be cool - a wedding in winter . There are already many events in summer, in winter - there isn't. Thought - done!

Another thing we definitely didn't want to experience - the stress of wedding planning, we wanted everything as simple as possible and cute. I heard that decorating requires a lot of nerves, so already initially I knew that ĀBEĻDĀRZS BURTNIEKIgirls would decorate, because there was one call:

Me: "Viola, will you be able to?"
Viola: "I can!"
Me: "I have to say something, what and how do I want?”
Viola: "No, I already know!"

I only told the date and place. And everything was perfect!

Choose photographer and video operator was hard! Such a wide selection! We had to be guided by our feelings and they did not disappoint - we have KLAIDS LIELBIKSISthat you can dream of! As one said friend: "Who would have thought you could be so beautiful!"

The wedding plan also had to be rescheduled, and the wedding date adjusted accordingly. With the photographer's advice, the idea of a photo session appears before the ceremony and a little more after. After the ceremony in Mārupe, we went to Kuldīga with our closest friends, where we enjoyed a festive lunch at restaurant Bangerts , and then to the Liepāja side, to camping Jūras krasti , where we spent a great weekend with friends. Since the campsite was only available at the end of last February, it was we adjusted the wedding date.

Department of birth records: I was sure that we would be able to have a good time and take pictures with the visitors. in the registry office, but it was not working that day. We had to look for other options until we stayed at Mārupe, which was super convenient, because of the location.

Everyone we wanted to see at the picnic was at the wedding ceremony.

Make-up/hair: I asked for advice from two friends who are much more knowledgeable in these matters, both independently of one the other one was recommended by the same masters - perfect, problem solved!

Clothing: I imagined what kind of dress I wanted and I definitely knew that I didn't want to spend abnormal amounts. I ordered from asos.com - I received the most perfect wedding dress. Complete with a hair ornament made of feathers - charming. With a husband's suit it didn't go so well and sharp variant was completely missed. We went to milk in local stalls. After the first shop, I felt that his patience capacity was nearing the end, but I persuaded him to go into the Wardrobe and try on something or another suit. Tried the first one, which seemed good, and liked it! Ok, let's take it!

The photo session before the ceremony allowed to reduce the waiting time of the guests after the ceremony and allowed us to enjoy longer this beautiful day.

It must be said that there was no snow all last winter and, exactly, exactly, it snowed on the morning of our wedding - in the vicinity of Mārupe. Even there was no snow anywhere else! But after the ceremony, we went to a photo session outside and we got the beautiful winter wedding pictures.

In order to reduce stress and running after the ceremony, we delegated some tasks to our friends - they took out the sweet, which to take with them, others took gifts home, others went to rent dishes. No one was waiting for us, and we had a calm moment for outdoor photos. Then, with only a few friends, we met already in Kuldīga, where the drivers were prepared a small attraction on the Venta bridge - a trip with a tandem bicycle across the bridge to a restaurant. funny it turned out nice and very snowy, because at that moment it started to snow like crazy.

After dinner, we went to the campsite, where we celebrated until the morning. The leaders had arranged a small ceremony at midnight, sea on the shore - the sea could not be seen, but could be heard and felt. The next day we made a small gift for our friends - a joint photo shoot for everyone, which turned out to be a very cool walk. The main thing that had to be solved - what to do with for dinner for 14 adults and 6 children? Host a cooking show My Kitchen Rules style! We shared Mr. and in ladies' teams, we divided the dishes and got down to planning and cooking. It was particularly memorable for many, because everyone was up and running. And together we managed to have a very delicious and elegant dinner. We managed everything!

At our wedding, we remained ourselves. Nothing is superfluous. Nothing complicated. Totally us.
